Chandler Regional Medical Center
(Posted Aug 23, 2013) – Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC), a member of Dignity Health, is seeking highly qualified and evidence-based driven trauma surgeons to actively build the trauma and acute care surgery program. CRMC expects to receive Level I trauma designation early next year from the state of Arizona. A new patient tower is under construction, adding 96 beds and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2014. CRMC will be the only Level I trauma center in the area.
Dignity Health recently hired the nationally renowned trauma surgeon Dr. Forrest “Dell” Moore to lead the development of our new Trauma Center in Chandler. We are looking for fellowship-trained trauma critical care surgeons, including those who will be finishing surgical critical care or acute care surgery fellowships in June 2014. We will also give serious consideration to general surgeons who have extensive interest and experience in the care of the trauma patient. Candidates must be American Board of Surgery board-certified or board-eligible. Leadership positions may also include the Director of Surgical/Trauma Critical Care and Director of Trauma Research.
CRMC currently has 64,000 emergency department visits and expects between 1500 and 1800 trauma patients, of which 10-15% will be from a penetrating mechanism. Participation in research and outreach, as well as resident, medical student, and mid-level education is expected. We have excellent subspecialty support, including Barrow Neurological Institute neurosurgeons and fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons from St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (also a Dignity Health hospital in downtown Phoenix). This is an exciting opportunity for physicians to help develop a new program and Level I Trauma Center!
Located in Chandler, Arizona, CRMC is a 243-bed community and tertiary care center located 25 miles from downtown Phoenix. CRMC has been honored with the Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence award from Healthgrades in 2013. CRMC has also received the Health Care Leadership Award for Hospital of the Year and #1 Acute Care Hospital in 2013 from AZBusiness Magazine. Chandler is an ideal place to raise a family, with excellent schools and well-respected state universities. Outdoor living in the “Valley of the Sun” affords a wide range of activities. With professional sports teams, wonderful restaurants and incomparable shopping, the Chandler/Scottsdale area is among the most highly desirable areas of the country to live. These opportunities offer a perfect lifestyle balance.
Dignity Health, one of the nation’s five largest health care systems, is a 17-state network of nearly 10,000 physicians and 56,000 employees who provide patient-centered care at more than 300 care centers, including hospitals, urgent and occupational care, imaging centers, home health, and primary care clinics. Dignity Health is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality and affordable patient-centered care with special attention to the poor and underserved.
We are offering a competitive salary and generous benefits package that includes relocation allowance, CME benefit and excellent malpractice insurance. Physicians will be eligible for a RVU-based incentive plan for general surgery, as well as incentives based on quality metrics.
